Why do I need a support contract?

1. There a number of things that can go wrong on a personal computer, resulting in loss of data or worse. There are three measures (see our article on Backing Up for details) that we recommend everyone follow if they have ANY mission-critical data on their computer. If you follow these procedures carefully, along with regular computer maintenance, you shouldn't need any help from us. However, if your data does get corrupted, we can usually retrieve it for you, but this takes a few hours of our developers time which we charge you for. If you have a support contract, this service is free.
2. We periodically release updates and upgrades to our software. Some of these come with an upgrade fee. All upgrade fees are waived for people with a current support contract.
3. Some people get their files mixed up and need us to repair their software because of something they did to their files. Naturally we charge for this service. If you have a current support contract this is usually free as well.
